Peter Frost from Calthrops SolicitorsPeter Frost
pgf@calthrops.co.uk
Peter was admitted as a Solicitor in 1964 after serving Articles of Clerkship with a large firm in Coventry. He began work in Spalding as an assistant solicitor, immediately after admission.

By 1966 he was sole principal of the firm in which he practiced , changing its name to Peter Frost & Co. In those days specialisation was not considered necessary and as well as acquiring a reputation in the local magistrates’ court, Peter was handling a widely varied caseload including substantial commercial matters and property law.

In 1988 he began to concentrate increasingly on civil litigation and in 1991 passed further examinations to become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. On a number of occasions he has been appointed by the President of The Law Society of England and Wales to arbitrate in disputes.

When Peter decided to merge with another firm, Calthrops (where Peter’s father had been an Articled Clerk before World War II) seemed an obvious choice. The two firms amalgamated with effect from 1st July 1999, the firm’s title included the fact of that incorporation. The Partners in Calthrops continued as before and Peter’s status has been that of Consultant ever since.

Robert Bowker from Calthrops SolicitorsRobert Bowker

Kate Tingey from Calthrops Solicitors

Kate Tingey

kt@calthrops.co.uk

Kate started her legal career as a Paralegal in the 1980’s and embarked upon qualifying first as a Legal Executive and then as a Solicitor in 1993. Her early years in Practice were spent in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire where she became a Partner in two firms. Looking to further her learning, Kate worked for the Falkland Islands Government in the capital of the Islands, Port Stanley, with the Attorney General where she quickly became used to dealing with a variety of legal types of work from criminal proceedings to land matters. Following her 2 years spent in Port Stanley, Kate returned to the UK and resumed her High Street work as a Solicitor and Partner with Heckford Norton and then Sharman Law (Bedford).

Again, a desire to develop her career soon followed and Kate undertook her Masters Degree and gained her MBA in 2008 by which time Kate had become self employed. This enabled Kate to gain experience working with many different firms of Solicitors and other businesses from small High Street firms to organisations such as Which? Always committed to providing Private Client services, Kate has over 20 years experience in handling Wills, Probate and elderly client affairs as well as some Trust and Tax work too and is delighted to have joined Calthrops at their Holbeach Office.

Sharon Macaulay

sm@calthrops.co.uk

Sharon qualified as a solicitor in 1996 after gaining a Law with French (Hons) degree at Birmingham University.  Sharon joined Calthrops in 2014 and has gained a wide range of experience in civil litigation throughout her career.  This includes personal injury claims, landlord and tenant and other property disputes, professional negligence claims, contractual and employment disputes. She also advises clients on how to contest the contents of a will.

Sharon’s approach to litigation is to give clear, practical advice in a friendly, down-to-earth manner.  She works hard to resolve issues quickly without the need for expensive and stressful Court action, as she feels strongly that early settlement of a dispute is in the best interests of her clients.  Sharon is based in our Spalding office and has a particular interest in marketing.
